What do you think?

I actually have a bunch more items that I will be working on and maybe just maybe I will post a free pattern for one of these items!

Also the base for the owl hat comes from Repeat Crafter Me. I use her owl hat as a base for all my earflap hats! Just love it!

The base for the diaper cover is from Posh Patterns. I love pretty much all her patterns!

Make sure you check both these amazing ladies out!

Classes? What!?!

Over this weekend a couple of friends asked me to put together a crocheting class to teach them how to do it. So, after much thought I decided that I would actually do this class.

First off I will flat out tell you that although I have taught pre-schoolers how to do things, I have no idea how it is to teach adults. I am working on my degree in Early Childhood Education and Development not Adult Education. So, if make a mistake or a fool of myself just laugh along with me because honestly this is a complete first for me.

I have decided my first project and am designing my first lesson plan and everything. Who knew that my teaching degree would be helpful in running my business Andie's String Theory! Yay me for at least having some idea how to do this lol.

Our first project is going to be a pot holder. Although this is boring at least it's simple, easy and completely forgiving. Our second project will be a scarf/cowl.

Hopefully, by the end of this week I will have everything completely in place so I can outline everything for my students and make this a cake walk.

Oh please wish me luck on this,

Andie

Going Through the Strands of Yarn

I have a three year that I love to death..... however he has a bad habit of getting into my yarn and creating the biggest rats nests ever! Example of which below....

Yep, my loving three year old did that to that yarn...Mind you that rat's nest was WAY bigger until last week. I spent hours to get it down to that small!

The worst part about that rat nest? Almost all that yarn is black, dark blue or dark red... Which makes it even harder to undo the mess.

This is the slightly unorganized chaos of my office closet right now. I am actually prouder of how it looks than what it did look like enough to take a picture of it. Mind you all the yarn at the bottom of the picture was all rat's nested in a box and has been like that for almost a year now because I was just sooo frustrated with my son.

This is a new year and I am determined to get my office clean and organized. So determined that I actually ended up giving myself a pinched nerve in my neck moving furniture around in office by myself that I really shouldn't have. One such item was a bookshelf full of books.... Yep, maybe should have re-thought that move.

So, this brings up the question... How in the world do you get through your rat's nest.... me, I spend hours working on it until I get so annoyed I get out the scissors. I knew someone that actually had her husband undo the rat's nest for her. I am not blessed with that amazing of a husband. Love him anyway but there is no way he could stand doing that for long.

The Year of Firsts!

This year holds a lot of first for me. Some might seem dumb to you but I am trying to open my eyes to bigger and better things!

We started off this year having my son potty trained! This is a big thing for me because I have been trying since before he was 2 to get him to at least try but he refused. I decided that as of the 1st of the year that there would be no more diapers! We also decided that there would be no more sippy cups in our house. My loving son has a habit of just putting his sippy cups where he likes and then they get gross because he hides them. Can you say ewwww!

I have also been trying to become more organized and clean more. Although, I have hit a major set back because I ended up pinching a nerve in my neck trying to do too much in one day. I will get my office clean and organized!

In other great firsts this is the month of my first anniversary for my business Andie's String Theory! I am very proud of this! Having your business last a year is something to really be proud of! At the end of this post is the Rafflecopter giveaway for a free Infinity scarf/cowl of your color choice!

These pictures are what it looks like in car coal gray, which I made for myself but you can have any color!
